Build cool village with other frens, make new things, celebrate as village
I was applying the story to the states who also share a problem in this, sorry for the confusion
Yes, and I was asking a tangential question which was most prevalent to my own experiences and living situation.
The states have a very similar problem with law enforcement and placing their own cameras all over too. If anyone needs reference check out these Flock cameras.
I’m just not convinced that there is one government out there that doesn’t spy on its people one way or another.
They’ll never ever give up the ability to collect intel on its own people, but we can sure put up a fight and hold them off as best we can.
Wonder how the founding fathers would feel about this, but kinda expect just to find out they were doing the same thing but with physical people/spies
Considering your rude name calling and the fact that you totally skirted the crux of the issue by downplaying and muddying my argument, I too think we can end this one sided conversation.
Good luck with your chronic inability to conduct yourself in any manner short of rude, disrespectful, and condensing towards others of your own species.
While I appreciate your view, I have to disagree.
Becoming a sharer means more responsibilities, like keeping things up to date constantly. Get stuck in the hospital? Guess what? That new patch you automatically downloaded and applied? Turns out it opened up a new avenue and your IP address got hit by a random scan from some server hosting in Germany and was exploited to do xyz.
I’m all for self hosting, but not without serious warnings to new sysadmins. It’s just not for everyone, for one reason or another.
I think trying to deny or downplay that is negligent and harmful to what Lemmy and other self-hosting enthusiasts would want for their community/friends.
Some sauce for the hungry!

I never claimed that, humans discoveries are just new permutations of observed phenomena. Every single mechanism of the universe is a permutation of the baseline functionality: physics. Therefore, if we’re shitting on permutations, you’re shitting on all of science. AI can do what we do faster. It’s just applied “knowledge” - no different than humans. In fact, that’s the whole point of neural networks, to emulate what our brains literally do right now.
You compared AI to googling bro
I’m done with this convo lmao
By this very same logic, nobody has ever discovered anything because they’re just speeding someone else’s plans of improving or deriving from someone else’s findings
Genius.
Anytime you switch from consumer to sharer, you run some heavier risks.
Plex should be a cautionary tale
Literally have this discussion with the conservatives of the family every holiday 😂
