I think they have to sue in French court, right? Couldn’t X just “Section 230” them to no end if they sue in America? Ironically, Trump wants to repeal 230 and claim Platforms are actually publishers, but I guess he wants to do that to silence his critics and no real concern for disinformation.

Paid a bunch of medical bills put the rest in an investment count and haven’t touched it since, even for emergencies.

Tried to blame me, lawyer got testimony from cops, witnesses, and animal control. The animal control report was very damming for her. The officer talked about how after he came in to her home he had to go back outside because he feared for his safety, too. My lawyer as well as getting the warrant also got the go ahead from the judge to start the process to put a lien on her house, which apparently is very rare, so the testimonies of other people and her dodging being served must have really pissed of the judge.

A “friendly little pit bull”. I was walking down a sidewalk in an urban area when I passed by it and its owner and it decided I was snack time. The small woman owner couldn’t control it and when I was able to get it off I luckily could run inside a building. Two good Samaritans who saw the attack followed the woman to her home and called the police to tell them where she was.

I initially told the owner cover my hospital bills and rehab and let’s call it a day. Instead she tried to blame me because I looked “intimidating” to her dog (what she told police). Luckily the good Samaritans provided a statement to police stating they just saw me walking down the street like every other person.

I was out thousands in medical bills and lost workdays and she wouldn’t pay so I sued her and she dodged process servers so we got a judge to file a bench warrant for her arrest. That got her to court real quick and instead of paying $5k in medical bills she ended up posting me $110k, some was covered by her policy but she was still out of pocket $35k according to the discussions my lawyer had with her lawyer and insurance company

JS is slow, but I program Rust and Scala. Every internal app at my company is react based and I spend most my time waiting for that bloated framework to load a simple table. It can take seconds to load a 20 route paginated table from source.

Most people would consider that I wear “gay” underwear but I am a straight guy. In high school my girlfriend convinced me to wear a thong for her and it’s been thongs, g-strings, bikinis and panties since. If you are an athletic guy or get hot easily then women’s panties are also a good option as they tend to use lighter material that will stretch enough in the crotch for a guy.

Worked at a major tech company as a data engineer, constantly warn everybody that major tech company is doing crazy surveillance, nobody cares. Told everybody my job was taking economists and research scientists python models, translating them into production code for data pipelines that would operate on terabytes of streaming data and it would change our recommendation system on the fly to keep you on the page. It was designed by academics to prey on basic human instincts. Tons more sketchy stuff, but I always felt like that was the most predatory. All we need to know was your zip code and gender and we knew how to recommend you stuff you wanted, and then people would voluntarily give us more identifying information.

National Parks. Make fun of the US as much as you want, I have travelled to a lot of other countries and have always tried to find something on par with Americas National Parks, and really only Iceland comes close.

If 2016 taught me anything it’s to not trust polls. Doesn’t matter how hard ahead Kamala is polling until your ballot is actually cast.

It also doesn’t help that you have the “Lemmy.ml” crowd calling you a fascist if you vote for Kamala, because in their twisted world having trump win is better eomehow

The app our the foundation? Not sure if you’re talking about the current drama with WP engine or the buggy app. I call it buggy, but it’s actually a phenomenal platform.

A mod on Lemmy.ml likes deleting my comments because I said people have suffered under communism. His mod log response was a broke a fake news rule because there is literally no evidence of anyone suffering under communism. I’m working on my masters in history and just wrote a paper about Sergei Korolev….
