Okay man, we get it. You like Bluesky. You've posted at least 10 articles of people moving from X to Bluesky.

Blood of Zeus is an obvious one

Dude's almost 60 years old. I really don't understand the hype of watching someone fight a retired athlete.

I thought I read this before, and sure enough it's a follow up to a 2023 article

TL;DR: 21 year old national guard leaked classified documents on Discord for attention and got caught for it. Nice work.

GIMP needs a total overhaul by designers.

Isn't that what GIMP 3.0 is going for? It's not out yet, but it is a big overhaul.

We've known this for a while. LLMs are a dead end, lots of companies have tried throwing more data at it but it's becoming clear the differences between each model and the next are getting too small to notice, and none of them fix the major underlying issue that chat models keep spreading BS because it can't differentiate between right and wrong

I guess you really have to put up with it.

That depends on app developers, not MS. Having apps actually work through a translation layer would ease a lot of people's problems when transitioning to ARM though.

This new build of Windows 11 introduces a major upgrade to the Prism emulator that enables support for additional CPU extensions in its emulated x86 processor. These include AVX, AVX2, BMI, FMA, and F16C.

This is big news for ARM Windows laptops. Now according to Microsoft almost every app should be compatible, and they showed Adobe Premiere running fine through emulation.

If they did this from the start it might've sounded fine, but now it just feels like they're trend-chasing after Apple Intelligence...

I'm for making a megathread for people who really want to talk about it here but I genuinely don't understand why you're upset you can't talk about US politics everywhere in the platform. There are tons of communities for that. AskLemmy is for

open-ended, thought provoking questions

Instead, most US related posts are for venting and complaining. See these communities instead:

And dozens of similar communities on other instances. It's not censorship to ask you to go to use the proper channels, not everyone here wants to see US news everywhere.

I remember the series on Newgrounds, it's a fun time.

RIP Edd. Gone way too soon.

Also the title is so misleading because it acts like it's missing a vital component when most people really wouldn't care about alternate covers..

About time. This also applies to their older models such as M2 and M3 laptops.

In the U.S., the MacBook Air lineup continues to start at $999, so there is no price increase associated with the boost in RAM.

The M2 macbook air now starts at $1000 for 16GB RAM and 256GB storage. Limited storage aside, that's surprisingly competitive with most modern Windows laptops.

This is a nice win for self-repair hardware rights.

We are introducing OpenAI o1, a new large language model trained with reinforcement learning to perform complex reasoning. o1 thinks before it answers—it can produce a long internal chain of thought before responding to the user.

Their other (less technical) blog post about it: https://openai.com/index/introducing-openai-o1-preview/

What the hell are they even spending all this money on when they don't have much to show for it?

Big day for people who use AI locally. According to benchmarks this is a big step forward to free, small LLMs.
