Strangely enough, I haven't been banned from there yet and it's not for lack of trying.

It's a mixed bag. Some communities on lemmy.ml are awesome but all the news related ones tend to be tankie circle-jerks. The mods over there are usually hands-off so I am surprised OP got banned.

The problem is that there actually is an extremely loud minority actively flooding the place with pro-Russian, pro-China and anti-western news articles. They will usually follow up with hostile comments pushing additional misinformation. (.ml/usa is a good example.)

They are so active, I suspect they are a contracted troll farm. I have no proof, but it's still highly suspicious.

You could write another article for Lemmy as a temporary distraction for yourself.

I initially started this comment as a joke, but I realized that it is a really good distraction for a ton of things.

Also, my ADHD really comes in handy for scenarios like this: Instead of thinking of a million and one ways to be passive aggressive, I usually just blurt out what is exactly on my mind, directly to a persons face. (Results may vary. It's usually an automatic action for me as my brain-to-mouth filter has some very clear deficiencies.)

Netflix was the king of over doing it on just about all fronts. For a while, they went absolutely crazy with the non-english subs. No, my account wasn't leaked or anything but I do think Netflix really wanted me to learn several other languages.

Currently, "my recommendations" are the complete opposite of the kind of shows I watch and just about every movie is #1 in the US if you look at enough Netflix accounts.

(The king of shit recommendations is YouTube. Did you have to make it through an intro to find out that it's the wrong subject? Here! Let's completely fill your feed with those kinds of videos now!)

It's easier to replace the malware with your own, honestly. (Bots do this all the time, actually.)

"Removed" is such a strong word and likely not used correctly here.

Edit: This isn't a "conspiracy". It's a math game, TBH. And it's exceedingly cheap.

I would say most of the content is already poison.

That is super weird mold, if it is one.

There really isn't much of a nutrient source, it's growing on a clear coat and it's sporadic. If it was one big spot or a continuous line, that would make more sense to me.

The picture makes it look like a somewhat clean and dry environment as well.

My guess is some kind of chemical reaction, but that is probably wrong.

I am not sure if all my nieces and nephews were aware of Thomas Shelton or any of the first internet memes.

Still tho, you had a good knowledge drop.

Now? It's been happening since cell phones became common. It started as lazy typing (or just bad spelling) and it just became a thing shortly after.

Any word that can be shortened was shortened, like ur example. If punctuation isn't understood, it's left out. The worst part of this is that spelling and grammar checkers are "smart", so they integrate slang as "correct" and probably type mistakes for people automatically.

That's fairly bold to ask for ~6% of the total world economy as well as a sizable chunk of the world's energy.
