Beyond that, sites impersonating real business FQDN's are becoming increasingly common in top search results.

These include sites including illicit clone sites through to malware-laden shit holes trying to trick users into downloading some virus intereste infested imposter.

Often enough, they're registered via GoDaddy and use CloudFlare to obfuscate their true origin.

Many of them prey on typo-swatting, not necessarily in the domain name but rather on SEO-indexed terms that will get them into the top results, for example microsoft.com might still be the top result for people searching up that particular company, but "micro soft" or "Microsift" among many others may lead to malicious sites in the top results.

I've identified a ton of these and frankly, neither GoDaddy, CloudFlare, or Google seem to give two fucks as the process for getting them scrubbed is laborious, slow, and often ineffective.

Yup, and plenty of people have no issues posting about local events or joining region/city specific groups, so it's not exactly hard to put two and two together.

I don't have much issue posting about the city I grew up in or former jobs, but generally work at being fairly vague about anything current

Not recommended. Could be somebody actually looking for victims online to meet IRL

Pi4 regular boards yeah. The CM4 (Compute module 4) boards are a bit of a bitch to find though.

I wonder if we'll see a CM5 and whether it'll be compatible with the CM4 interface boards

I hope that in the future, AI tools like this can assist indie game devs, so somebody with the idea for a decent plot and gameplay can generate environments, some models, and voiced characters with a generative engine. These tools could also be a cool evolution for games that use generated worlds already: think Minecraft but less blocky.

I fear that it will be used by big studios to supplant or replace human talent, leading to endless titles of same-same dreck without the spark of inspiration or uniqueness that a human developer, artist, or story-boarder can come up with.

Or to paraphrase how somebody else put it: "We thought that computers would do the boring or unpleasant work so that humans could spend more time making art and expanding culture, instead the computers are making the art and we're still doing the shit work"

I'm satisfied enough with my Paperwhite but would like to diversify off Amazon hardware to something that I can just run their app and also others for more variety.

What Boox device did you get and how do you find the battery life? I'd like to see how things work with color so the mini-C looks interesting as an e-book replacement, and there apparently an "ultra C" which is more of a tablet device but might be a bit bulky (plus more expensive)

And easier to maintain with different dev groups

Also, the iFrame is particularly asshole'ish in that the original author's site is still out the bandwidth for content, but somebody else is making money off it.

I fully support his response. Personally, I'd love to see the same done to certain scraper-bots

I've done face edits/swaps ages ago with large family photos, as when you get enough people in a picture there's amongst always somebody blinking, sneezing, etc

This took just makes it simpler and automated

Parking (at a remote resort with no other reasonable way of accessing) comes to mind as one of the bullshit'ish fees I've had to pay, but most of the rest are usually fees passed up from the municipality etc
