Why not digitize and still keep the originals?

That's where I'm at. Why not both? Redundancy is good,

Paper copies are good to have till they're no longer necessary (edit: and apparently these aren't necessary anymore)

Digital copies are also useful for obvious reasons

Eh, it's probably good to have regardless?

It's less about being careful around the car and more about how you might interact with it. For example, honking the horn or flashing your beams wouldn't have the same effect. On that note, it might be nice to have some way of telling a self driving car to temporarily use elevated sensors or something, the same way a horn tells a driver that something is wrong. As long as there's a way to prevent abuse of the system

I don't know much about these lights, but we COULD use some new standards in general with how many things have changed with cars in recent years. Brake lights on electric vehicles being another thing to consider.

That "gentle horn" everyone wants being another

What I hate to see, even in this thread, is people turning on each other in this "us vs. them", "you're either a part of the pact or you're against us" nonsense

Let's all remember why WE ALL CHOSE to get on the fediverse and build it. The strength of the fediverse comes from the freedom for each instance to choose how to run things. My understanding is that no one in an instance is harmed if some other instance chooses to federate or defederate from Threads.

I hate Meta. I also know that Meta doesn't need to do anything to take down the fediverse if we do it ourselves.

Guess I need to find and close that account now

[–] [email protected] 7 points 10 months ago

Well that's a new one lol, hadn't thought of that. That's another level of planning

[–] [email protected] 2 points 10 months ago

I was thinking something like that for Reddit/Lemmy might also help people switch over

[–] [email protected] 12 points 10 months ago (6 children)

and the flipside is also a problem

Now legitimate evidence can be dismissed as "AI generated"
