Best reply in the thread, thanks for the good explanation

I am running manjaro with a AMD 7900XT GPU, i needed to do a lot of work to get my windows vm to display correctly and it does not perform well in terms of graphics inside the VM. Personally I keep a dual boot with Win11 debloated to run games that require kernel level anticheat. With that said, if you wanna know if it's a good idea to switch, protondb.com gives you what to expect from your games on Linux!

If you're on Android, you can use Aliucord with the UITH plugin

You know you can use Vencord or BetterDiscord to do this for free right? You just get the magic-upload plugin and you're good

I can actually confirm this a little, when Elden Ring came out, it ran really poorly on Windows so rebooted to my Linux os and was getting a solid 15-25 more fps. It even made one of my friends install Linux just to get the performance boost.

Underrated comment

You can make it so that you can have a folder ignored by your syncthing on your computer called something like backup but have your phone still recognise that folder as not ignored. Then when you want to delete a photo in your phone, just move it to that folder, wait until it syncs and then delete it. Your computer should not delete the photo since it ignores any changes in that folder. I'll test this when I get home if you would like?

I second this, I use syncthing for phone camera to pc and laptop and have never had a problem. It's almost instant too, it's kinda nuts that it doesn't even need Internet to connect between devices. I a world where everything needs an account, and tracking, syncthing is a simple grace I take for granted

I used the clear all unreads shortcut (shift + esc) and it doesn't go away...

Edit: For anyone having this problem, I'm using GNOME desktop environment and clearing the notifications on the shell removes the bubble on the app icon. Thanks to @EmasXP for the hint.
