I also don't trust Microsoft to keep it turned off. Even if it is truly off (really hard to tell) what's to say it doesn't turn back on in an update. I want an OS I can trust.

It's a great example of why I push for the use of technologies where I don't have to trust companies to play nice with my data. If I use (correctly implemented) end to end encryption then you physically can't access my data.
That's so dumb of Bluesky. They should provide ways for poeple to get around it or point to resources that explain how.
I STRONGLY disagree with this move. Once you give into one country it can way to easily lead to others (with more power) also trying.
If they ever make this a standard feature in all TVs and make it where I can't just disconnect it from the internet, I will be using old TVs for the rest of my life.
My TV is there to display a visual output. It does not and should not do anything else.
I don't get why they listened to the Turkish government. There not (to my understanding) registered there or have any kind of assests there.
Also to be fair I feel like YouTube has a large amount of deadish Internet content or just content that can't exist in a landscape that doesn't reward getting clicks (think Mr. Beast and similar).
