Edit: Except one of course.

True, if I had the money to spare I'd definitely consider it.

The only reason I am buying Pixel devices is the amazing third party os / rom support (especially GrapheneOS).

I hate the fact that the only viable choice is between Chromium, Chromium, Chromium, Chromium, Chromium or Firefox.

Here is a list of my favorite android apps. Feel free to post your own.

  • F-Droid (app store)
  • RethinkDNS (firewall/dns)
  • KeePassDX (offline password manager)
  • NewPipe or FreeTube (YouTube)
  • Ghost Commander (file manager)
  • Heliboard (keyboard)
  • Termux (linux terminal emulator)
  • AntennaPod (podcasts)
  • Aegis (2 factor authentication)
  • Mull (firefox based web browser)
  • OsmAnd (offline navigation)
  • Trail Sense (hiking companion)

I just want to play Magic the Gathering Online. I need it for nothing else. It runs like ass under WINE and even Proton. So if there is any other way I can do this, without going the nuclear option, I don"t even need to setup a VM for it.

I am tending towards a RaspberryPi with PiHole. Would there be any advantage with an OpenWRT router if it's just plugged into the ISPs router anyways?
