It's all about power. The 1% will not give up their power ( = the opportunity to do whatever they want whenever they want) just because it would be good for the 99% to work less.

That's not how the world works.

The 1% will continue to make sure that they are in control of whatever the next thing is that grant them the same or more power.

If owning AI gives them power they will do whatever necessary to own AI and let's not kid ourselves here "they" would be you and me if we had the chance.

Yeah... About that... How's block chain going these days? Solved all the problems in the world yet?

Hollywood put billions into the next generation disc, blu-ray, and you would still pay extra at Blockbuster for being late if it wasn't for piracy.

While piracy isn't without problem it is the closest we get to "supply and demand". Piracy balances the scale.

I'm just curious... You are ok with not installing any security updates for months (or even years)?

If they anonymize the data so that it's no longer possible to identify you GDPR allows them to keep the data.

Wasting money keeping the emails that they don't need would be cartoon villain level of stupid.

Yeah.... Because there is no money in machine learning and it will never benefit from text written by humans...

They will delete the account, not the data.

They won't. They do however want to stay relevant and will float things like this just to create talk about Microsoft and Windows.

You know what's really interesting to talk about? How fast it was for me to setup Chimeraos on a PC with an Intel GPU and hook it up to my tv and Xbox wireless controller USB dongle.... First boot and I login to Steam and BAM! Grab that controller. Time for couch gaming

Windows is nowhere near that good or easy as a game station for coach gaming.

It's the UI that makes it my heroin.

Does any of those support YouTube shorts?

"Of course. What is the server's root password?"

Like Google and pretty much every other tech giant.

Google are extremely keen on supporting open source when it hits their competitors but when it's about their own business they pretty much avoids ot. They took Linux and created Android... they the practically locked it down by moving more and more essentials into Play Services... which by some of reason isn't open source.
