Look at the sports with systemic ad presence vs sports where it's all "grass roots." (The grass roots ones are mostly gone.)

Most top sports are incredibly expensive to keep running and the ones that become infested with ads are the ones that stick around for us to enjoy. If you follow less popular sports you'll consider yourself lucky to bring in ads and sponsors.

It's like an old 100 yo trend of writing headlines except it has gotten much more "slam"-filled. Crash blossoms / headlinese has evolved over time.

A hidden device implanted on our cortex at birth should detonate when we suggest something like "We should let corporations solve global warming."

The list is compiled by the MPA, a group that represents studios, etc. They work with our government, and to which degree I have no concrete idea, (edit: a trade association is supposed to work with governments on behalf of it's members) but they merely submitted this list to our government. That's according to the article and the torrent freak source.

I think the article wasn't being clear and other comments seem to agree.

I think "end of history" is a bigger deal than hysteria or overreactions. People should be more concerned with things like climate change, fascism, capitalism, or systemic inequality. A lot of people have this thing in the back of their mind where they "know" nothing will ever change, and it poisons the way they think of the world over time.

Terminating service over allegations of piracy. Kicking someone off the internet because an automated copyright system accused them of piracy. That's crazy.

Next time an artist makes a big deal about being ripped off I'm going to contrast "working hard and then getting ripped off" with "underregulated industry manipulating society for profit" and probably just pirate.

How to "block" ads: Refresh the video multiple times. They will show a few different ads and then give up. It even works on console YT apps which have more ads.

I guess it affects impressions? I figured they would have fixed that, but this still works so whatever.

Sovcits + consumerism == Pirating isn't stealing because this word here has a certain definition, which invokes this special rule that lets me do what I want.

The special forces test was hard.

For the written test. there's parts where you would be shown a helicopter for 100 milliseconds then have to remember the configuration, number of rotors, ordinance... Or you see a tank for a split second and have to correctly identify the barrel measurements and other little details.

The stealth mission was difficult too. I managed to be a medic and a ranger but not special forces.
