If only all modern software was like this, as they used to be over a decade ago ☹️

What's wrong with the FUTO license?
AFAICT, the only restrictions are you cannot make money off it, and you can't pretend to be the official app. Very similar to the Mozilla license, although Mozilla's has some extra bits to be compliant with releasing on the App Store, which has its own licensing requirements that is not met by any version of the GPL
I can see this being possible if you're trying to access the western world from an eastern country
I can almost guarantee that the Venn diagram of psychopaths and executives at Fortune 500 companies is a circle.
This made me LOL
I hope they go down the crapper completely TBH, with their predatory practices targeted towards young people who don't know what they're being pulled into.
That and the various gamedev companies on that site exploiting child devs who truly deserve better than that
All of what this person said!
I still use public trackers though, mainly because I want my seeds to actually benefit others, not fill up some arbitrary private tracker counter.
Learning the hard way that VOD is not cheap, unless you're Netflix who installs smaller servers inside many ISP and cell carrier offices to reduce bandwidth cost
Those three passengers are sure to have some great bonding time down there in that claustrophobic space 🤦♂️
Please, seat companies, stop giving the airlines ideas!
Plexamp was launched twice, first as a Plex Labs desktop-only app, then completely overhauled as a cross-platform app with 'droid and iOS releases.
It has changed a lot since, the UX is much smoother now, with tons of new settings + features implemented. There's no other selfhosted solution that comes close IMO
Love OpenCamera, this is pretty much my camera app of choice.
If I need extra image processing (e.g. Night Sight) I use modded GCam with one of its many modes
Impressive work by the students IMO, a 1200kg EV campervan that achieves a realistic range extension with its solar power roof. Great to see that this is even possible with current solar tech though - I wonder what something like this would look like in the future with more efficient panels.
Let's say this matures, what would be the stand out differences between something like this, and a normal combustion vehicle? The main advantages the combustion has would be really good fuel density (longer range) and no waiting on the batteries to recharge, however the solar vehicle is much more lightweight (harder to get stuck, as mentioned in the article) and requires almost no maintenance... maybe just dusting off the panels after driving through a sandy region
Ohh I see, sounds like more of a principled reason then if i'm understanding you correctly
Edit: while Louis is accepting feedback on the license specifically, I doubt the project will move to something relicensable, since Louis specifically picked this license to prevent what is happening to NewPipe and the spread of malware using his name to gain trust. He's also been burned a lot during the R2R stuff with unforseen loopholes abused by rival lobbyists, so the FUTO license is probably looking at things from a protectionist perspective, not as an individual from the FOSS community.
I've only heard of one OSS project relicensing in recent times, and they had to reach out to each individual contributor for written permission, hopefully this rings a bell for someone here because I can't remember the project name...
