My Jellyfin just quivered…

I can’t recall offhand. What I will say, though, is that your PS4 is not designed to be a streaming device. It can utilize streaming apps, but that is not its purpose or focus. The apps available on its platform will always be a step behind those for dedicated streaming devices such as Firestick, Roku, Chromecast, AppleTV, or specific streaming apps on a smart TV.

If you are concerned about data harvesting, you should migrate away from Plex and onto something open source like Jellyfin overall. Once Plex closed their code and pushed towards monetization, they began harvesting data just like any other streaming service. That said, there is no Jellyfin app on PS4, but it is fully accessible through the PS4. Again, however, your PS4 is not really meant to be your all-encompassing streaming platform. A Roku or Firestick is very cheap, it is designed to only stream apps, both of Jellyfin, and Plex if you need to continue on that path, and will provide a far better viewing experience than a PS4.

Dude…what’s your CashApp? A Firestick costs like $20.

Getting those Office Space vibes.

This was my biggest issue. I live in a townhouse with a carport-ish thingy, but the same issue applies.

How does this app work given the API costs? How does it manage to not deliver ads?

I ask because, while I’ve currently embargoed myself from Reddit, I’d like to have some details noted so I don’t fall in love with this and then get hurt again.

Time to recall “Recall”. And fix Windows 11 and repackage as W12 while they’re at it.

I don’t think they’ll extend it, but I’m predicting that there will be some massive bug or security issue found in Windows 10 after its support has ended, and Microsoft will be forced to create an update for it since Windows 10 will retain such high market share.

Not sure why so many companies are so focused on making a miserable user experience these days. I know it’s mainly about appeasing shareholders, but it feels like there should be a few more long-sighted people in the mix who can see this backfire in the end.

Yeah, but I’ve been using the Jellyfin app on the Roku for my older “dumb” TVs, so I’m just fracked at this point.

That said, the webOS Jellyfin app is finally available for all webOS TVs, so at least I can go straight to JF on one TV.

Sounds like we need to start developing ad-blockers based directly within the OS.

I talked to Him the other day. He’s cool with it.

Evernote is “dead”.

Try Joplin if you haven’t already. [email protected]

It is similar to Evernote and you can set up the sync on another service like Dropbox or even your self-hosted solution. You can also pay them a few bucks a month for their hosting services.

Joplin has a good iOS app as well as apps for nearly all other platforms. I migrated from Evernote to Joplin after Evernote practically doubled their prices and then switched their free option down to a single notebook and could not be happier.
