You could just raise your employees' wages if you're ever at risk of becoming a millionaire.

So they could essentially make the mall business model work by not charging ridiculous rents? Maybe it's just greed that killed malls to begin with.

If you allow updates you risk it updating to a version of the software that stops functioning when disconnected. If it's functional it's just better to block internet access altogether.

Yep, I used to pay for Netflix, now I just stream off a jellyfin server.

Reddit tricked their own users into doing the moderating, that was their great innovation.

They could've had basically Reddit if they added a way to have comments in Google reader. Then again, they would've never invested in moderation, so it probably would've turned into a shitheap.

Are you still going to pay for a landline tho?

Can't hurt to try.

Yeah, just have those asshole dogs wake the neighbours baby whenever they see a cat/possum/cloud.

Yeah, that would definitely be the way to go. You still have to run the cables all over the place, whether it's one or two. I totally get why people go with wireless.

Some of them even have solar panels as well. It's very useful if you want to DYI installation without having to run cables all over the place (data and/or power).

This Wi-Fi jamming stuff does seem like a huge issue. I was actually considering wireless down the line, but maybe a system with proper wired connections would be better.

Yeah, I've used Nextcloud for this in the past too, but it looks like there's a ton of other options as well judging by this thread.
