Unfortunately RCS is on the carrier side. The most basic chat system built in by the phone carrier will likely have RCS.

I go out of my way to support the small websites. If there is an app I want to download, I check out their site first to see if I can buy from there so they can save on the crazy fees google charges

This happens every time I reset my Fold 5 on Android 14 and randomly in the past.

What I do now is to set a "Routine" to start the application each time I plug in my phone into a power plug and I check it each time I plug it in.

Not exactly a solution but at least I haven't had a problem since.
