No love for Nextcloud Passwords or Passman? Both have plugins for Nextcloud and have Android Apps.

I've been expecting a VPN ban in the UK for many year. But I think now they may have got too big. They are used on mass by normals to protect themselves from ISP spying and to feel protected on random wicks. I get in place ads, by presenters, on main stream political and news podcasts.

My e-Berlingo is very basic. It can't get remote update, it has to go to the dealship for them. I don't think it has a data connection. Claims to has some, but you can turn it off and I bet it's only for dealership download when it's in for repairs. It can't even keep time. It loses like a minute a week (which is the worse time keeping I've ever seen and I'm getting to be old now). So not doing NTP!

I count it's basicness as a feature not a bug. I just use Android Auto (originally on a de-googled LineageOS and now GrapheneOS with Google sandboxes. I use Organic Maps).

That's pretty neat. Game streaming isn't that different. It basically loads the adjacent scene blocks ready for you to wonder in that direction. Some load in LOD (Level Of Detail) versions of the scene blocks so you can see into the distance. The further away, the lower the LOD of course. Also, you shouldn't really keep the same origin, or you will hit the distort geometry issue. Have the origin as the centre of tha current block.

In H2 car the H2 is just a really inefficient battery. Sure it can hold a lot, but it loses a lot. You lose it in energy conversions (to H2 and from H2) and you have to transport the stuff, and it leaks (smallest element) and it has to be cooled and compressed.

Battery tech is getting all the time, and really, you only need 300 mile range (many have that now) as humans have to stop for a rest/wee. With a charge network like or petrol network, you can charge then.

I just gave up fighting. There is no system that is going to both fast and infinitely precision.

So long ago I worked in a game middleware company. One of the most common problems was skinning in local space vs global space. We kept having customers try and have global skinning and massive worlds, then upset by geometry distortion when miles away from the origin.

I'm pretty sure they do, but the key word there is "old".

It's not either or. It can easily be both and selling any data they can as well.

As a programmer who grew up without a FPU (Archimedes/Acorn), I have never liked float. But I thought this war had been lost a long time ago. Floats are everywhere. I've not done graphics for a bit, but I never saw a graphics card that took any form of fixed point. All geometry you load in is in floats. The shaders all work in floats.

Briefly ARM MCU work was non-float, but loads of those have float support now.

I mean you can tell good low level programmers because of how they feel about floats. But the battle does seam lost. There is lots of bit of technology that has taken turns I don't like. Sometimes the market/bazaar has spoken and it's wrong, but you still have to grudgingly go with it or everything is too difficult.

Even they aren't the most sustainable directly anymore, it shows there is an appetite for sustainability. But as I said before, I don't want this just left to the market. I want ratcheting minimum legal sustainability standard, right to repair in law and repairability index on products. Plus a lot of other stuff to help alternative operating systems compete.

My last phone I got 5 years out of and it was second hand when I got it. At work we make of point of keeping old equipment going as long as we can (adaptors is one of the ways of doing that). I'm absolutely not encouraging waste.

Competing against the main phone makers is extremely hard. The market is very competitive on hardware. FairPhone do about as well as they can do. The problem is blind trust in markets. Consumers aren't suddenly all going to wake up and make long term decisions with lower value upfront. It's like FairTrade, why is it left to a consumer choice if trade is fair or not? What is needed is regulations.

I don't get why this works you up so much. The majority of users have gone wire free, and the manufacturers have cost optimized accordingly. They have left backwards compatibility via a standardized adaptor.

There is no reason the adaptors have to be fragile. You can probably get cables with the adaptor built in to be honest. Like DisplayPort to HDMI between a PC and a TV used to give that old PC a second life as a media PC.
