Always have water, often have a second beverage with caffeine

Huh, neat. Yeah, I'm American so there was no tradition or anything with my story, I was just buzzed at a show

It's not very strange per se, but I stole a completely regular unmarked glass, by accident, because I finished it right as the next band came on and being kinda drunk I just crammed the glass into my coat pocket so I could clap and generally be enthusiastic

Still have the glass, haha. Can't think of anything else I've brought home besides maybe a napkin or flyer or something

To make driving more appealing, I suggest living in an unwalkable American Midwest purgatory where there's fuck-all to do but watch tractors circle fields or meth

You will begin to associate the positive emotions of escape and freedom with driving, which will make you enjoy it a lot more

Your mileage may vary, but it worked great for me

Chiming in as someone who actually owns a few different anime on DVD/blu-ray.

My whole thing is that I like good media. Anime is a medium. There's good anime out there. As many have already said, those're few and far between because the vast majority of people working in the medium seem determined to pigeonhole it as genre trash and perv shit.

I kinda stopped watching anime early in my 20s. The late 00s into the 10s seemed like the absolute worst period of time for worthwhile anime being made. I've sat through a few more current big-name ones since then and shit hasn't improved.

So yeah, I don't hate anime as a medium, I just hate like 99% of the medium's content

I listen to a small fan generating white noise and sometimes my cat purring

God, or worse, a conversation around the conversation you're actually speaking in order to have

Yeah, I don't think we've had a real "natural state" since we discovered agriculture. Our whole thing is kinda setting ourselves above/apart from nature

Same with my kitty cat, she curls up tight against my chest, in my arms 💕 she is snuggled there at this exact moment, even, since I'm putzing around on lemmy instead of getting out of bed just yet

Am an American in my mid 30s. Recently bought my first and almost certainly only house. There is so much stuff about homeownership that feels like a luxury vs renting.

I'm a somewhat tall guy and my house's only bathtub is too small to do this. God knows when if ever I'll have the money to renovate that.

Nonsense, "spaghettified" is a perfectly cromulent word

Bitten by a radioactive housecat, I gain the ability to sleep deeply and comfortably in a position that by all rights looks like it should be destroying my spine

Like I'll take whatever else you wanna throw on top, night vision or claws or something, but I only really need that first thing
