You could forward emails manually, but you couldn't setup a rule to automatically forward emails based on a rule.

I tend to agree with your summary of the generations, but my experience in life sounds largely similar to yours, so some obvious bias there. The future you paint feels almost inevitable, and I hate every bit of it. Yet I can't find any reasonably effective way to change it.

I'm not so sure. Black Friday shopping barely kept up with inflation this year, but cyber Monday shopping was up over 12%, so while I'm with you in the minority that prefer a real quality store, it seems most folks don't.

That assumes that because they're paying they aren't also tracking. They might not use it for ads directly but they'll still sell it to others that will show you ads off Facebook.

That's true, but once you trust a new device, there's no reason the authority (your phone that has all history) couldn't transfer the history over to the new client.
