I mean, I haven’t watched the video. Guy however appeared in the Pandora papers. The Canadian government has sanctioned him for “gross and systematic human rights violations in Haiti and engaged in acts that threaten the peace, security, and stability of Haiti”. A quick search of his company (GB Group) seems to point to quasi-monopolistic practices on many Haitian markets. His father was sanctioned by the US as well in 91 around Aristide’s coup d’état. He is today Haiti’s one and only billionaire. He is also indeed a Zionist, even is honorary consul for Israel. What’s antisemitic about pointing any of that out?

It’s more about it being a Marxist Leninist instance lol

I have to admit - coming from a lemmy.ml user, this made me chuckle.

There’s actually a kids TV show where the characters are all vehicles (based on some VTech toy line lol), where the main character is part of a family of cars, that’s called Cory Carson.

It was self-fulfilling for me. I started self-hosting and messing with networking before I went into IT. I thought I’d be in a very different field until ~10 years ago.

I don’t think it’s a particularly far fetched idea to imagine that people spending their days outside before the invention of sunscreen would develop more sunburns than the general population regardless, even if only once or twice a year on unexpectedly long or sunny days…

I’m curious what made it that complicated. Was the Synology OS (DSM they call it right?) fighting you along every step or something? As far as I know it’s a custom Linux OS but I have no idea what it’s based on, or if it’s even based on a specific distribution… I could definitely see it being a challenge depending on the answers haha.

Eh, I just generally avoid Nvidia on Linux hosts unless I specifically need it. Their driver situation is better than it was, but still sucks.

Pretty much the only thing I use Tailscale for is remotely SSHing from my phone to my home NAS, and they definitely don’t manage my keys. They do have a “Tailscale SSH” feature I don’t use…

If it wasn’t that it’s Nvidia and that you bought this specifically for Linux, I’d have told you to keep the Nvidia, as you did get a significantly better card for the price you paid.
