It's just a joke, friend.

Can't land a helicopter at the club without a bunch of pansies whining about "public safety", as if a few heads on the street is such a big deal.

Wow. That sucks. Wishing the best for you.

I don't think any amount of de-specializing would be enough to trust the ignorant and/or malicious masses could or would self-administer adequately.

To be clear, that's not "enshittification". Just an undesirable development. Also not a worst case scenario, imo. The segmentation of Lemmy/the Fediverse is its biggest strength, tbh, where a problematic instance can be easily blocked or cut off by any individual admin.

Not enshittification. Just a corporation following through on the inevitable result of these one sided EULAs everyone "agrees" to.

That's what the companies want you to do. That's why it's so annoying. You're really just going to go along with it?

There used to be no option at all to avoid cookies. Now there is. That's progress, not "enshittification".

Curved monitors don't have flat mounts? Seriously? That's stupid af.

So your "solution" to oligarchs owning everything is...sell ourselves to them?

It's not a bad idea, but it also can't exist without a complete re-haul of what it means to live in modern society. Right now, replacing workers and cutting hours means people don't have enough money to live. That is not an acceptable result of automation. I'm not qualified enough to have a reasonable solution to this, but I know it needs to be addressed before we get to that point.

People still wouldn't care. The value of privacy, for one's self or others, has seriously cratered in the last few decades.
