This is a community for people who have home servers. 100M is fine for a couple people just web browsing, but that's not the topic of this discussion.

I run 10G between my desktop and my server because I can easily saturate a 1G connection doing a simple file transfer.

Ryobi cordless tools because I'm a light duty user. Wiha screwdrivers because I'm worth it (and they are worth it). And the nice Hakko soldering tools because I use those more.

I had a Harbor Height cordless drill that worked just fine for like six years, to my surprise and delight. I'm a light duty user, so I upgraded to a brushless Ryobi.

I wish someone would call me their dearly beloved ham casserole.

When I bought an actual bedframe. It wasn't the bed at my parents' house, it wasn't the bed that my college dorm owned, and it wasn't an air mattress I had been sleeping on during my internships. It was an actual bed, a real piece of adult furniture. It wasn't a small cheap metal frame. It was bulky and adult and real, and I owned it.

Wait until you learn about micro ops and processor internals. That somebody isn't as wrong as you think.

Because mainstream porn sites are blocked or require age verification in my state. Other good reasons are to avoid some issues when torrenting things or to "be" in another country to get around Netflix and other streaming service region blocks.

Privacy and avoiding man in the middle is kinda bullshit. Nearly all websites use TLS, so mitm isn't possible. And it's only privacy from your ISP.

Last time I tried it, the prebuilts packages didn't work, and the version I built from source couldn't recognize any graphics or video outputs to use 😞

To be fair to 4, cell phones are miraculous.

It's off site, but hackaday.com is great for (mostly) electronics and computer tech articles.
