It's because when you have a new platform, a lot of your first users will be the worst kinds of people to exist on the internet. It's why """free speech absolutist""" spaces quickly devolve into nazi hellscapes that repel all but the most equally toxic and revolting people unless they cut their claim to absolute free speech.

I can see the reasoning for that, yeah. Saudi Arabia's airport connects to a lot of other countries, though, making for fast spread if you rush air transmission 1 and 2

I personally find it easier to use my bootloader's menu (I use systemd-boot instead of GRUB) to decide what to boot into. It's a lot simpler than clicking through to the boot submenu in my BIOS.

...this would make E2EE effectively meaningless, because no amount of encryption will protect against getting scanned at the entrance and exit.
