I mean, he did write about his miscarriage in a webcomic that was just goofy pop-nerd humor up to that point, which is the entire reason it became a meme.

If people are sending the dude loss comics on the anniversary, that's a little fucked up because it's being used as a personal attack. Which is 100% not the case with the typical loss meme.

Tl;dr I don't think the guys needs people white knighting for him every time a loss meme is born.

Dude's here talking about how much he hates the idea of a meme, on a meme sub.

I'll take "the literal definition of a meme, which is coincidentally also the name of the sub I am currently commenting on" for $800, Alex.

Wtf people... Finally a post that is actually mildly infuriating and OP is getting shit on for not being infuriating enough!

This post is doubly mildly infuriating, so I'm going to log in with my alt and upvoted twice.

First off, you're a liar. Not a single person on earth has never had their transaction rejected.

I think this situation is a lot less common than you think.

More to the point, use a debit card if that is your gripe. Then you can just deal with an empty account rather than a declined card.

Just like you've never had crypto stolen, I've never had a debit card stolen, so by our combined anecdotes both are equally secure.

I've never been unable to make a payment using my credit card therefore your anecdote is invalid.

This feels heavily exaggerated, but in a good way. Bravo.

She says she takes full responsibility for what happens at the beginning.

Exactly. She abdicated the audience of any responsibility, which basically meant that the things that people did to her are what they would in principle do to any other person if they believed there would be no consequences for their actions.

Nobody in their right mind would have assumed she wanted to have a gun pointed at her head or be sexually assaulted, or even had consented to them. But because she willingly put herself in a position where that might happen (i.e., no consent, but no active resistance), certain people took that to mean it was okay to do those things.

There is only the tiniest sliver of a difference between this and any other situation where you strongly believe that you won't face consequences for your actions. How is what people did to her any different than doing the same shit to someone who was passed out drunk or even fully conscious but not in a position to defend themselves or report you?

NE and hazy IPAs are where it's at. A little bit of citrus and/or floral flavor to set off the bitter hops... Mmmm

You're thinking of circumference (distance around), not radius (distance from the center)

Circumference is pi * diameter. The circumference is also what you get when you cut the circle in half and flatten it.

Pi is approximately 3.14, so your flat sheet will be a little more than 3x the diameter.

There are correlations sure, but I'm not aware of any studies proving a causal link between cars and traffic.

I could just as plausibly say that 95% of cars in traffic have automatic transmissions. And so, just speculating here, but if they all switched to manual transmissions, we may see a significant reduction in traffic.
