I have a potentially really dumb question: how is mastodon different from the assorted lemmys and such? I originally thought mastodon was just another fediverse instance but now that I think about it I don't think I've seen posts and content from others on a mastodon instance, either on .world or where I am now at .ee. is this just due to defederation with mastodon or is mastodon different in some way that I am missing?

That might SOUND like 5x protein, but I am fairly confident there is a pretty minimal amount of protein at all. The beef and cheese sauce are almost entirely fat, cheese is low amount and high moisture, sour cream never had protein to begin with.
Maybe this is overly wishful thinking, but I do think there is enough data analysis on how people vote that it could be real: if a large body of people with a history of voting blue vote in this election and vote blue down the ballot but omit the president, or have a third party for the president instead, then that might actually send a message to the Democrats that they are fucking up their candidate selection badly, and make them at least marginally more likely to cater to the left when choosing candidates in the future.
That said I am not sure I can condone this tactic in good faith in this particular election given the alternative, but part of me feels like the right will perpetually have more and more abhorrent alternatives and there needs to be a line somewhere, and if it's not at genocide then I honestly don't know where it is.
No matter how you look at it all the options are bad. At least Tim being slightly left of Kamala shows Democrats slightly more willing to negotiate with disenfranchised left voters than chasing nebulous farther right independents. Not left enough to condemn genocide though so a very minor distinction
Probably not but do we really need more of them?
I watched the sequel to 300 without sound on an airplane. Def didn't need it. I don't feel I missed much of the "plot"
It was supposed to be the one that saved us!!!!
You can just never connect your TV to the Internet or make it forget all networks, that works pretty well if you have a console or PC hooked into it that is doing the actual content for it
I feel like this same subtlety is also what makes it really hard to meaningfully track if an ad is actually effective or not. How do they know if you bought it cause ads or cause you would have anyway? Sometimes I wonder if ads arent way way less effective than companies think they are
I'm not sure how this would work long term or if it would be any less annoying, but right now some content creators have ads within their content, like not YouTube ads but them just verbally promoting it. This could occur on peertube and is an option to still have a funding steam. It also allows creators to only have ads for things they are willing to support on their content. But it's also harder to skip and a bit annoying as a viewer so not sure if this has long term potential
Where do I see who is federated with who? Couldn't find it from that link. Would def prefer one that is federated with a broad scope of others
