roll such updates out

This seems counter to the goal of not having updates

I would like to move into a paradigm of no software updates for things software updates are not appropriate for.

Shouldn't need any special setup then, maybe install FreeTube or something for the YT adblock since that's going through some turmoil right now with ublock extension etc, anything else just google how to do it on Windows if you're not sure.

What do you want to set it up for? They normally come with Windows OS preinstalled

Damn. If you get some extra cash maybe consider cheap refurbished laptops on ebay, $100 would at least get you something functional

  1. Don't say too much about yourself or post photos
  2. Burn old accounts and make new ones periodically
  3. Turn off features that notify people when you get online or what you're doing like Steam and messaging clients

I don’t even own a PC anymore, literally just have my phone.

Terrifying

Didn't SBF do this shit too? I wonder how widespread in various industries it is to basically have to take performance enhancing amphetamines just to keep up.

Sounds like you're pretty far up there in terms of being financially well off then, most people don't have the option of doing that.

Yes it does, it's so we can form militias.

That's a good point, I guess I haven't been too aware of all that stuff.

The rights to search sure are, but it’s more like Google happens to be the one paying it right now. It could be Microsoft or Yahoo or anyone.

I don't buy that what they are paid reflects the value of their search rights. Google has antitrust interest in the continued existence of Firefox, that's why they would pay them, doesn't matter what they say it's for.
