I can do decent espresso art now which I'm pretty chuffed about.

You sound like an old timey whaler and it's very pleasing. Not the implications for the whales. Just the old timey sea-ness.
Yeah we were gifted some here in Aus. Afraid I don't get the bourbon thing. I'm a whisky girl but bourbon just tastes... Wrong? We have another really nice bottle of it (name escapes me) that we were also gifted. I'm afraid to open it in case I hate it.
Yeah I plateaued in my early teens. I know I'm intelligent and have a curious mind that means I read a lot, self educate etc. But I'm no smarter than my peers ever were. I was just 'advanced' as a kid. Meant I didn't take schooling seriously and formed arrogance about my abilities, well before realising that they're pretty mediocre in most things. Jack of All trades, master of none. Hold myself to ridiculous standards that I'll never meet.

Fucking hell, mate. Go measure your own skull and leave everyone else alone.
Hadn't heard it before no, but it's not my favourite of covers I've heard. The original song itself is very nostalgic for me with childhood memory attached so I love it as is. Only as an adult did I find any real meaning in the lyrics though. Can easily be palmed off as a shallow pop song I guess, but it has depth to me.
"I'm just tired and bored with myself. Hey there, baby, I could use just a little help".
As an apparent normie middle aged woman with no interest in stocks or 4chan or any of the green text nonsense, I subbed to wallstreetbets when the GME thing was going down.
It was one of the silliest, absurd and funniest things I've witnessed a group of people doing online. The ongoing stuff about 'my wife's boyfriend', all the rocket ships and diamonds, screenshots of people's plummeting investments with responses of 'apes/autists together strong'. It was just so, so dumb and relentlessly funny. There was something that felt very early internet about it. Silliness without ego because everyone was just trying to outdo each other's patheticness.
I've often mused who they'd cast as Thomas. A younger Billy Bob Thornton would have worked.
