German consumer protection FTW

The Fair Consumer Contracts Act will in future introduce a mandatory 2-step termination process […]. Wherever the consumer can conclude a subscription contract against payment, the provider should also give the consumer the opportunity to terminate at the same point. […A] cancellation button should be included on such registration pages for memberships at the first stage (with the wording “Cancel contracts here”). This “first” cancellation button should then lead to a confirmation page on the second level, where the respective user is identified and the consumer can effectively send the cancellation (i.e. with the wording “Cancel now”).

How do you delete data that’s already transferred to their servers while you visit the page? You don’t need a cookie to uniquely identify a user.

GM blamed it on women’s sanitary products

Did only women’s bathrooms get clogged?

I would tell them they need reasonable toilet paper.

I don’t see how any judge would follow this argument. So you’re just leaving work for a few hours every day.

No clue. My college course wasn’t all that deep, and it’s been quite some time.

I would start bringing my own toilet paper.

And reward their shittiness by buying your own paper?

Don’t the big internet-y routers also send packets to multiple interfaces if they don’t know how to correctly handle the target IP address?

So you need to use lots of extra time to wipe your ass? Sounds like a reasonable business decision.

You forgot to mention that you might get it twice, or thrice, or more, and in different versions.
