Also don't expect to do it well the first time. Skills take practice to develop. Practice with those tools before you apply them to expensive materials for the thing you really want to make.

how the warm work? does it have heating built in? or does it blend some mix from hot and cold water pipes? do you have to run it for a half minute to get the temperature right?
This. I think this person has just shown that it's really important to set boundaries with them, and not worry if they like it.
There's all sorts of inappropriate ways to use a toaster where the failure mode is fire. Making toast in bed, under the covers? Catch fire. In a puddle of gasoline? Catch fire. Seriously, WTC toasters?
I guess I'll find out. I have wondered if any of these are just scams.
