Self-hosted nextcloud with on local NAS with a minimum of 2 drives in raid 1 configuration and Twingate to access it. I has the unique feature of not costing me a monthly subscription other than my energy bill. It’s as secure as I can make it and use Twingate on my devices to access it and sync. Not sure if it’s good value because it takes work to maintain etc, but that’s a win in my book. Would only recommend to people who are into doing stuff like this. Everything else I recommend one drive just because of it’s availability, easy of use and compatibility with pretty much any device.

If I had a penny for every time, I was told I’m a genius for helping someone with something easy, I’d probably about a fiver.

If you go on eBay you’re more likely to find businesses selling old kits for cheap. That’s where I would start :)

I personally use perplexity.ai and, although not perfect, the way it goes about finding he answer makes it much less prone to hallucination-answers.

Easy solution is to enforce a buddy system. For every black person walking alone at night must accompanied by a white person. /s

You’re not wrong. It really comes down to how ethical the IT/company is. And we are, purposely so. Also we have dns-over-https and No other identifier is parsed through. So we can see and block someone browsing porn on the guest Wi-Fi, but we’d never know who it was. Look, I’m not saying things are perfect, but there are people like me who look out for both the user and the company. The goal is ensure that users privacy is respected and that the company is protected agains misuse, malicious intent or just plain bad-luck. This is the “code” I was referring to. As IT people we have to behave ethically for business we operate in. It’s not perfect but nobody is trying to be. This is all best effort from all parties.
