Yeah, same. Getting past Guardians in BoTW required relying heavily on save scumming until I managed to get it right. Any fight that needed flurry rush was also always a disaster.

sounds awesome, come to think of it. Better hurry back and finish it!

Not really, and I think that's because in many games I play primarily to experience the world, find new items, and generally explore. The story itself usually takes a back seat and is rarely the thing driving me forward.

One counterpoint to that, off the top of my head, is Journey, which I always play through to the end scene.

Darks Souls 3, Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom, Skyrim.

I love RPGs but hate boss fights, for some reason. Once I feel I've done enough exploration and character development, I invariably lose all interest close to the last boss.

According to research, the space between letters is more important for people with reading disabilities than rotational distinction.

Typefaces may affect web accessibility, but if you want to provide a better experience for readers, Comic Sans isn’t the only option. The best practice is to use a widely available font with no extra decorations or flourishes.

In addition to Comic Sans, the British Dyslexia Association recommends Arial, Verdana, Tahoma, Century Gothic, Trebuchet, Calibri, and Open Sans.

As are many other sans serif typefaces.

It's acceptable in the following contexts:

  • In a comic
  • In content designed for children

That's pretty much it.

I use FLAC for long-term storage, 256kbps Ogg when transcoding for mobile devices.

Opus is the best lossy codec in terms of efficiency, but many devices/apps don't properly support it.

I use https://huggingface.co/chat/, which is an open source alternative to ChatGPT.

Their privacy policy is here.

It depends how you're using the term 'genocide'.

While the CCP might not necessarily be intentionally mass-killing ethnic minorities in the Xinjiang region, there is very strong evidence that they are doing their utmost to stamp out Uyghur culture and forcibly assimilate them. In the process, people are being incarcerated, tortured, and raped, amongst other things.

It could be argued that this is a crime under international law, where the definition of genocide includes

intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group".

Or you could argue it is ethnic cleansing instead. Either way, it's a lot more serious than just overzealous "counter-terrorism" measures.

Yup. How long have we been waiting for graphene batteries to revolutionize technology? About a decade now?

Well, if we look at humans as a species then obviously the greater part of that is prehistorical. Clearly our "nature" is not incompatible with collectivism when looking at small communities and groups.

However, I think you have a point when it comes to more complex societies with increasingly larger populations, which, as a rule, have tended to form hierarchical class systems that are antithetical to collectivist ideals.

So we could say that humans have historically been fine with communism up to a certain point. It's when they start to form nation states and larger communities that societies have generally gravitated towards hierarchy and plutocracy, for whatever reason.
