I can see that there will be a range of markets for these. Installing them in the desert (efficiency not as important as pure cost-per-watt, long-term stability very important) is not the same as installing them on your roof (limited space but fairly easy access, payback time dominated by efficiency) and so the 'customer' sweet point for these will not be the same as the 'industrial' one.

Once you've posted a comment that implies that China is imperfect in some way and received a truly spectacular number of downvotes, and then realised that it makes no difference whatsoever because Lemmy votes only affect your ego and nothing else, then you can move on. Going to go out on a limb here, but I prefer the food from Greggs. Prefer the coffee, prefer the sandwiches, like a steak bake and all the other pastries. So the fact that it's cheaper and you get served quicker too is an additional bonus.
Think you're understating it there. Network call takes milliseconds at best. Function call, if the CPU has correctly predicted the indirect branch, is basically free, but even if it hasn't then you're talking nanoseconds. It's slower by millions of times.

I used to work with a Greek guy called Argyros Argyros - cool guy, but suspect he was an outlier. Named after his dad, so certainly some people are named that way. Icelandic for instance would traditionally use "Given Name" "Patronym from father" - Magnus Magnusson was quite famous in the UK; Björk Guðmundsdóttir might be the most famous internationally, but she's not a "double". There's quite a few cultures - Hungarian, Chinese, Japanese, ... - that write their names as "Family Name" "Given Name" as opposed to the other way around, if that's what you mean?
Not that I'm the biggest fan of CMake's syntax, but they are fairly concise and standardised. The XZ backdoor hid in amongst thousands of lines of autotools jank that very few people would be able to audit. A short CMakeList that generates a Makefile is a much harder place to hide something nefarious.

Friend of mine's dad used to write some Mills and Boon ones, which is the UK equivalent I suppose. We all found it hilarious. Had to sign up for one the '8 pre-approved plots' in advance, and then got paid about a penny a word. You need to be properly cranking out text to even reach minimum wage - it would be easier to work stocking the shelves at a supermarket, quite frankly. But yeah, not an environment that fosters innovation.
Hey! Perks that actually (a) trigger when intended, and aren't bugged out (b) do something actually useful - are quite unusual in Fallout; there's plenty of them that are just a trap for the unwary to waste their slots on.
I'd also nominate the 'lady killer / cherchez la femme' perk as being one of those traps; the vast majority of the enemies you have to kill are male, and certainly all the ones who are difficult. It gives a few interesting dialogue options, but there's more effective perk choices.
I thought that it was encrypted if your home directory was encrypted? The impression that I got was that it was just a SQLite database stored in the clear. The user must certainly be able to make queries of that database in order for it to work, so even if it's hosted by a non-user service, malware running locally will still be able to exfiltrate the data.
