Don't be evil came from an ad agency that did tobacco ads.

They keep filtering the stupid people, but there's always more.

I keep wondering what zuck has to do to be more obvious, but it seems like an infinite horizon to someone whe never signed up for any meta product.

Also, soft switches don't really turn things off. Physical covers over cameras, mics, and speakers can't be overridden.

I had to make an email filter just for airbnb, after requesting account closure several times.

Booking.com at least honored the 2nd or 3rd request.

If linkedin has an investor page, set a forward so their emails go to investor relations.

Tax all captured data @40 dollars per field per year. First name, 40 bucks, last name 40 bucks, etc.

Thank you for that additional info. I'm highly intrigued with this because vehicles would "refuel" in a familiar way, and there could be a choice to also plugin recharge if someone had their own facilities, at home or work.

It might be the bridge needed to entice more conversions, and might improve with experience and time, much as ICE have done since the Model T.

If you can find a consignment store for used outdoor gear, many hiking shoes are strurdy.

Get low-tops unless you want knee problems down the line.

Learn to pad the insoles with foam so you can make them just for you, and easily alter them if things change.

And start it backward, slowly. You can feel the thread drop in. Then start to turn the right way.

Works with threads in plastic as well so the metal screw doesn't make new ones.

No way that Intel sat on this for years until they needed it for PR.

I was looking at off grid properties back in the oughts and found nice place on 40 acres.

The community had run state water people off with firearms when they tried to inspect the community well.

They'd also abolished utility easements so no outside power or water lines could be run.

Might still be for sale.

And AZ struggles to update environmental regs... https://insideclimatenews.org/news/09082024/arizona-copper-mining-water-impact/

“We’re all on wells out here and no one can give us an answer as to what aquifer the water is going to be coming from,” Melissa said of the potential mine in the Galiuro Mountains.

Worrying over water is nothing new in Arizona. Nearly 80 percent of the state lacks any groundwater protections, which has allowed large agricultural operations to move in and pump as much as they want without even keeping track of how much they suck from aquifers or paying a penny for it, leading residential wells in some areas to run dry. Water experts, local leaders and rural residents have pushed for years to change that, with the governor now also calling for action, but legislation to resolve the issue has proven divisive in the state legislature.

Mining operations can also pump as much as they want, even when aquifers are tapped out.
