I'm not gonna name names, but imo Lemmy already has a couple of its own Gallowboob-types who just mass repost any and every shitty meme they see to multiple communities, and have already gotten high off their minimal Lemmy-celebrity status. I get Lemmy needs content, but personally I have no interest in seeing Lemmy just become a place for Reddit hand-me-down memes. So yeah, there are definitely a few users that blocking them will significantly improve your Lemmy experience.

edit: typo

I mean, since the paranormal doesn't exist unless the people in the house died due to some kind of environmental factor then the number of people who died there is completely irrelevant to the new residents, and does not in any way increase their likelihood of harm.

Really it just lowers the rent or mortgage, an objective win for the new residents.

Can we get a bit more info on your likes and interests? What subreddits did you subscribe to? I'm happy to recommend some but since I enjoy things like [email protected] that have dependencies such as being a metal fan, knowing a bit more about what you're looking for will help.

But regardless, welcome aboard and I hope you like Star Trek and Linux references!

My friend, my dad used to watch that show all the time, so I have seen a lot of it.

The 2 idiots 1 keyboard scene isn't "one of the only bad scenes in the show," it's literally one of the single most entertaining moments of the show.

And that's not retroactively calling that scene entertaining, it is meant as a scathing insult to the abysmal quality of the rest of the show.

I loved my father, but I constantly questioned his intelligence being able to sit through that drivel.

If you disagree with my opinion, that is okay, but I promise you are not going to be able to change it

Garbage-tier children's meme

Very valid. All the more reason to need something to aspire to, imo.

Bananas. I'm not saying it's hard now, but it used to be insanely easy to pirate. Everyone I know my age had a PC full of pirated films and music just searching directly on Kazaa or limewire without having ever even heard of terms like "VPN."

and binge nutrek shit.

I hate how all of the new Trek shows seem so intent on subverting/dismantling the hopeful and utopian world of Star Trek.

Like, at least to me, the whole point of Star Trek is that while we have no shortage of pessimistic dystopian Sci-Fi, there's painfully few major properties that paint a hopeful picture for the future. Star Trek was always an aspirational look at humanity to me; the new shows seem so focused on being tense and dramatic that they forget they're supposed to have that aspirational quality.
