I wish we could use Slack.

I think they see the writing on the wall and they're trying to make a buck while they still can.

But can ChatGPT downvote answers into oblivion?

Oof. That sounds rough.

Based on the lyrics I always thought it was about werewolves.

Coffee shops. I don't know why. I just really enjoy sitting in them and having a coffee, especially if they have nice cushy couches or chairs.

Or maybe you still love it, but now you have a different perspective.

I did this for a year and a half, and I never fully adjusted. I worked 4 10 hour days from 10pm til 8am.

One thing that helped a lot was to go to bed straight after work. Then I'd wake up, go do stuff/work out/be social, then head into work again. The only thing that threw a monkey wrench into this for me was the 3 day weekend, where I'd find my body fighting to return to a normal schedule.

Edit: I was just looking for someone to explain this. I literally know nothing about web3 and very little about crypto. It sounded interesting, but maybe it's just dumb.

I've never been able to make non-slimy oat milk. I'll give this a recipe a try.

And why?

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Oat milk followed by homemade cashew milk. I found coconut milk and almond milk both to be too watery tasting.

Edit: Here is my recipe for nut/seed milk. This works for cashews, sunflower seeds, hemp seeds, and pepitas. I haven't tried it with other nuts or seeds.

  • 1/3c nuts or seeds
  • 4c water
  • Sweetener of choice (I just use 2 Splenda packets but I've also used agave and pitted dates)
  • 1/8tsp salt
  • 1/8tsp xanthan gum (can be ommitted but it helps the texture IMHO)
  • 1/2tsp vanilla (optional)

Blend seeds or nuts with water, salt, and sweetener in a high speed blender. Strain through a nut milk bag. Add xanthan gum and re-blend. Stays good for a week or more.

Recently, my car. I was driving around a 2006 and recently got a 2024. A backup camera is amazing. The collision detection, touch display, and Bluetooth are a nice bonus also.

Or do you not intend to? Or have you already? Retirement is coming up for me in a few years, so I'm considering my options.

I think that teaching classes would be interesting. I have a lot of industry experience, but I never actually got a degree in the field I work in, and I don't have any sort of degree that deals with teaching. Is it possible to get a job as a teacher without those?

Edit: I'm in the US specifically looking at teaching college courses, but K-12 could be interesting, too.

I'm re-watching The Magicians with my wife, since she's never seen it. It's been long enough since I watched it last that I don't remember a lot of things that happened, so there's a lot of "I forgot got that!" moments for me, which is fun.

I love bridges. If I see a cool looking bridge, I want to cross it, especially if it goes somewhere that I'm not familiar with. Same with stairs outdoors. They feel like an adventure to me.

1-10. How good of a stick is this? I quite like it.

I really love the idea of reducing single use plastics in my life. What have you done to successfully reduce or eliminate it?

I am finding that there are things that I can replace stuff with but they don't tend to work as well. If I can get like 90% efficacy out of a more eco friendly replacement then I'm good, but it's been more like 50% so far.

I'm looking for something as close to Nova Launcher as possible.

What are some of your favorite out of the ordinary names from history, religion, or fiction? Could be the name of a person, animal, place, etc.

I've really always liked the name Bellerephon from Greek mythology. I also like the name of the home planet of the Time Lords from Dr. Who, Gallifrey, as well as Rassilon, a Time Lord.

My wife and I love to binge watch scary movies in October. Looking for stuff that's truly scary and not just gore. Watcha got?
