This banner is the same tactic used by malware. It targets the average Joe that just accepts anything thrown in their face. It's the same with the cookie popup we see in the EU. People just click accept to get it out their way so they can view the content they came to see.

They pushed me to Linux (Arch btw).

They aren't targeting people like me though. They are targeting people like my wife that doesn't read what she clicks and just accepts it.

Microsoft are being really very pushy to get people to use Edge.

Why not? It's another useful area to use as a backup.

Use Cryptomator. You can then use any cloud storage provider knowing they can't read your files.

Indeed this. Plus my minipc has dual ethernet which is handy as I run Proxmox and use the second nic for migration traffic. The mini pc is way better than the Pi for my usage.

Loved the Pi for hosting small services around the house. I've just replaced my Pi4 with a N100, 16GB, 512GB SSD mini pc which is so much faster, not to mention cheaper than a Pi5.

I'd suggest uBlock Origin but then they're running iOS.

I do agree that fdroid is ugly. Droid-ify is so much more pleasing to the eye.

I still prefer Chrome over Firefox but I've been running Firefox for over a year now and won't go back to Chrome because fuck Google. Also stopped using Google for searching and not being tracked is very very noticeable.

I've ran multiple containers on a Pi 3 before "upgrading" to a Pi 4. Yes not even a Pi 5. Sure it's not rapid and drags it's heels at times but for the most part it's great for hosting stuff for my household.

Home assistant, Plex, Syncthing, Wireguard, Ad Guard, nginx, nginx proxy manager, duckdns, mongodb and unifi network appliance. I was also running Jellyfin along side Plex but it keeps causing the Pi to lock up.
