Does anyone know how to export anymore? I have so many listens that it just breaks on the client side when i press the button. They recently tried to fix it too but it's still completely broken. and the export was my only reason for using it lol

Pocketbook has always been the best option for linux because it already runs Linux out of the box and is easily modifiable by design

In my experience the actual rust community that you'll be seeing if you work with the language is actually incredibly nice and open minded. It's got a lot of autistic people and other minorities who are more emotionally mature than a lot of adults. Rust people can be smug sometimes talking to "outsiders" but once you're in the community the problem disappears

Ive been using utc personally for over a year and i use it in context of vrchat since it yields one less necessary conversion to other people's timezones because only the offset is needed (as opposed to memorizing both offsets, which is much harder because of that nasty nasty daylight savings and its weird anomalies) but they still hate it and tell me to use a "normal" timezone lol. I had gotten 1 person to switch. And she since switched back. Shit don't work in practicality but I'm still gonna use it out of stubbornness

All the more reason just to use yt-dlp. I know it takes a tiny bit of time to set up, but it's well worth it. I'm able to download 20-minute videos that would have otherwise buffered in less than a minute. I can simultaneously queue up a bunch of videos, and watch them with zero stuttering.

Wow! That's kinda insane. I don't know if I've ever seen anyone do that. Perhaps it's just invisible to outsiders, because it's that seamlessly integrated?

I'd never heard of the latter two. Thank you!

Higher resolution videos actually have better bitrates on youtube. Like if you select 4k even if your monitor is just 1080p, the video will look much better.

I'm only starting to realize now that the Fediverse kinda follows the unix philosophy of purpose-built interconnectable pieces interfacing with each other. It's much better than the alternative of just slapping everything into one cumbersome pile.

I'm not very well versed in the Fediverse so this may be wrong.

The entire internet nowadays is either monopolized or close to it. I miss the days of many servers hosting indie websites, as opposed to one or two companies per niche.

It's pretty random whether you get the message or not. Some of my friends, including me, straight up cannot watch youtube on their website half of the time anymore, because it full blocks us. It's not just an annoying message, videos actually just don't play. But I only get it on some days. I think the message only pops up if you've been watching for more than like an hour straight. Then again, some of my friends have never seen the message. Who knows. Just more weird big tech server bullshit. Like how twitter's api works 15% of the time (for me).
