Why target the consumer and not the source?

If for no other reason than it doesn't have to be either/or. If you can meaningfully reduce demand for a "product" as noxious as CSAM, you should expect the rate of production to slow. There are certainly efforts in place to prevent that production from ever being done, and to prevent it from being shared/hosted once it is, but I don't think attempting to reduce demand in this way is going to hurt.

Worth noting that, by convention, "i.e." is usually in lower case, and only capitalized when the words themselves would be, i.e. at the start of a sentence.

Edit: typo

Haha, yeah, I don't use Facebook or anything, but my partner absolutely uses marketplace and "buy nothing" groups on there.

The thing is, they don't. Because no one ever put Elliot in the position of literally being told by everyone around her that she was a man, no one ever told her she was delusional and should find a counsellor to investigate whatever trauma might have caused her to have these incorrect beliefs about herself that let her think she's a woman when she's clearly not.

The people complaining don't understand because they think it's at worst as bad as JD saying Elliot has an Adam's apple, and they don't or won't confront the fact that that'snot what they're doing to trans people. And yeah, those jokes were stupid and transphobic and unnecessary, but even then the whole joke is that it's funny she gets upset about it because no one could ever seriously confuse her gender. People can always tell. Right?

They don't understand, and they refuse to consider ideas that would let them, and that's pretty fucking shitty. But honestly? If I could just chalk it up to malice, life would be a lot easier.

They will laugh and think it's funny because they don't get why it bothers people. They'll insist that the only reason what you're doing is wrong would be if you were "reinforcing a lie" or some other bull shit.

On top of that, while I don't doubt that vaping is probably a good way to help someone quit smoking, there are plenty of young people who started or are staying vaping who never smoked and wouldn't have considered it

I mean I understand that you're joking, but just in case,

You realize that's totally different, right?

"desktop" in general is a much smaller number than it once was, since laptops can do so many of the things people once used desktops for.

My father once tried to tell me that capitalism was fundamentally about making people happy. Because, see, the whole point is bringing to market a product that people want to give you their money for. That's the whole point, you see. The people wanting things. The money is just a by-product, you probably shouldn't pay too much attention to it. It's not like another word for money is "capital" or anything.

What a riot.

I mean it's technically illegal, but then so are a lot of things.
