Ads are not the only reason, but if you're still on reddit, you clearly missed the point why reddit became popular.

If I ask an "ai" bot to create an image of batman, it does make sense to be modern or take inspiration from the batman of recent, the same applies to information it provides when asked questions. It makes sense to crawl news and websites with copyrighted footers if the information is relevant.

I do totally get their argument and think of the children angle. Getting to the point, it's all about the money, nothing to do with protecting peoples work. They want a cut of the profits these companies will make.

In that case so should open licences demand that they do not make profit from such content. In that case I believe the free AI will be much more useful, if of course people be aggressive back with this tit for tat.

Let me guess, Google didn't follow on one of the US's demands, now they're being targetted.

Sounds nice, can you tell me what they are exactly?

Oops, corrected, thanks. Was thinking half a million, ended up typing 500 and then a million.

Philips has a net worth in the billions, $20.67 billion as of July 12, 2023. (Source link) Yet they decided to create a kickstarter, charging "early bird" buyers these earphones that's designed for wearing while sleeping, basically the same as any other earphones, just slimmed down and cables running around your head.

What's infuriating is that there's dumbasses who actually gave them money to make a product ($500k ~~million~~ in total), so Philips is most likely not taking any risk making this, but will enjoy the profits.

The kickstarter - https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/kokoon/sleep-headphones/posts

I thought the whole point of a kickstarter was people with a product, but lacking the funds to get the project actually going getting a kick start to get going.... Not for billion dollar companies to beg for cash.

I recently switched to dark theme depending on the time and I would say the reason not to use dark themes entirely is you don't get the contrasts you can get with light themes, setting the mood and I guess 'theme'.

I don't know how someone can remember secure passwords without a password manager.. My password manager 10 years ago was basically a text file. Moving to Bitwarden from LastPass the only thing I miss is easily creating a folder when saving a new credential.
