That emphasized my point. If someone feels that they had always been a certain way in the past even though they didn't look it or act it in public, there is no "other side" of themselves. I'm not trying to change the vocabulary, just was an observation of using a word past its usual meaning. That's how words evolve.

The narrow purpose models seem to be the most successful, so this would support the idea that a general AI isn't going to happen from LLMs alone. It's interesting that hallucinations are seen as a problem yet are probably part of why LLMs can be creative (much like humans). We shouldn't want to stop them, but just control when they happen and be aware of when the AI is off the tracks. A group of different models working together and checking each other might work (and probably has already been tried, it's hard to keep up).
That makes sense, but then the term "transition" seems incorrect. More of a "resolution".

Don't see mention of Q-Link (a C-64 specific large scale discussion service) much anymore, so had to comment. It was cutting edge to be part of something like that, and yes, it could be expensive - 5 cents a minute for some functions which could add up since it was all dialup. Anyone now looking back would see it as crude and basic, but it was a huge step up from the local BBSes. Chat rooms for all sorts of things, real time direct messaging with friends you made online, even file transfers while you chatted. Later years even played with 2d avatars that could walk around from place to place. Only years later after being an AOL user did I learn than a lot of AOL's infrastructure was built upon the old Q-Link system.
As a a side note, it was mind blowing to be exploring the deeper parts of AOL and find the the door to the REAL internet. AOL wanted users to stay within AOL for all their needs and not as a portal to everything else.

And making more than the minimum the government requires them to make for quota. Demand is even there now, so there's no excuse other than the bottom line, plus a bit of cooperation with the oil companies.

I mean we could try and transition workers from a more negative industry type to a positive one...but that seems like a lot of work and less profitable, so never mind.
I don't think it needs to be much bigger for an individual, just fast enough to keep them near the center even at a run. Smaller pads will be the way to go, just have to drive and control them in sync. Maybe predictive software to only run where your feet are at or will be, to minimize the noise.
And Apple gets more usage. It's a win-win for both companies.
