Big freight train spends a lot on bribing too, to avoid needing to spend even more from being required to improve their services.

(Edit: Misclicked reply) the attitude part is pretty common for Lemmy users: passionate, with strong views enough to migrate away from the mainstream. You are free to dislike Stamets or anyone else. It's still important to understand that nobody's perfect, no need to have one's flaws be used to tank the good accomplishments they've done for the platform.
No problem and glad to hear you're still around! You were there with the memes and shitposts when Lemmy needed it most, I think that deserves recognition. Keep taking things at a pace you feel comfortable with, your life comes first.
Special shoutout to @[email protected] who's on point with the opossum memes.
@[email protected] is quite famous in the Lemmy Startrek Lore, but less active lately probably due to big real-life changes happening, I wish them well.
I've been having a nice time with Lemmy having ditched Reddit last year, and considering the changes that happened or have been conceptually floated over that time I'm happy with my choice.
One thing I would like is for the Lemmy framework to make it easier for the network to be "wider" than "taller" as it grows. By this I mean a wider array of separate domains with operators each with thriving niche communities, rather than a few tall generalist servers and a handful of outliers, and a fragmented myriad of inactive communities that are hard to find.
Why am I supposed to assume you own an iPhone? I'm trying to list out all the potential cases in general for you and for other people. If you switch from Android to iOS or vice versa this would be the case. Seamless backup solutions aren't exclusive to Apple either.
New phone, new carrier, new sim card, wiping your phone to refresh it. If you haven't specifically backed up your blocklist and imported it then it could reset.
If I wear boots, sneakers, sandals, hiking shoes sometimes I wonder if it will be enough to throw it off? How distinctly will it be able to tell from millions of gait patterns? Sure it may work foolproof for a set of 100 even intentionally trying to vary things, but how similar will the gait of Roberto Ramirez be to himself the next week or to the hundreds of thousands of people going past an area over a year?
Welcome welcome! There are a lot of apps to choose from, check out here: https://www.lemmyapps.com/
Jerboa is my choice, but what you settle on depends on what features you want.
Repeating lossy compression on a dataset produces lossier data, which seems pretty intuitive, glad it is spelled out in a paper.

By continuing to display Disney advertisements on my computer and within my field of vision after September 1st, 2024, Disney hereby waives all right to force binding arbitration just because someone signed up for a free trial.
(Oh and also brings jurisdiction to British Columbia, or anywhere there isn't a sizeable portion of numbnut judgets who would entertain the stupid argument Disney is making.)
