I want buttons with two sides, buttons with multiple steps, I want buttons on buttons! Give me buttons made of shirt buttons, one button, two buttons, red buttons, blue buttons. BUTTONS!

I could see that. AI seems like an expensive solution to just getting people to stop clicking "reply all" though.

Kinda crazy that the easier solution may not be changing people's behavior, but creating an entire system capable of reading and understanding text.

Nothing it does is anything we haven't seen before. And if Siri is any indication, it won't be all that useful in the real world.

The problem I see with AI is that it seemingly takes just as long to figure out how to ask the AI what you want as it takes going into the app and just reading an email or writing a message. And then when it summarizes, how can you really trust that it hasn't misconstrued something that you could have caught by reading it?

I'm sorry, their problem is that the massive trucks are somehow in danger because they weren't designed to handle being hit by a vehicle less than half its size?

What a ridiculous statement.

We need to require special licenses for those behemoths.

I'd prefer they get banned entirely because there's really no practical use for them that isn't solved by some other commercial vehicle.

It's about the restrictions they put in place on those who have bought their products. They make it extremely hard to leave their ecosystem, overcharge for services, and prevent interoperability with other products.

They're only just now allowing RCS to try getting out ahead of these lawsuits. But they still don't allow side-loading (forcing developers to use their store so they can charge 30% on all sales), don't allow third-party app stores, and don't allow third-party browser engines (forcing everyone to reskin Safari).

Plus, in the US, Apple has 55% market share as just one company. The next highest is Samsung at 25%.

So yeah, they can play monopolistic games.

It's the replacement for SMS... Are you upset that WiFi phone calls are tied to your phone number?

Sounds like you're older though. Social media wasn't nearly as ubiquitous a decade ago as it is now.

There was separation between online and everything else. But for these kids, online is everything. The spaces are nearly equal in experience and importance.

Cargo shirts obviously. Those zippers have a purpose!

Yeah, entirely online. It was absolutely perfect for me, so hopefully something exists near you. I don't know if WGU takes international students, but look into it because it's asynchronous, so you don't need to worry about timezones.

Anyway, good luck out there! Commit fully to something because that regret later sucks.

Where do you live? If the US, (but look into it if not) check out Western Governor's University. The format might be exactly what you're looking for.

They have one or two assignments per class and let you take those assignments as quickly as you want. So you could finish a course in 3 days if you want (which is exactly what I did several times). I got through my Bachelor's in 1 year, and my Master's in 1 month. Literally 1 month. And each degree had included industry certifications. I was able to do it so fast because I could hyper focus on the content, not have to sit in lectures all day, and take the test when I knew I could pass. It was perfect for me.

What nobody seems to say is that what the degree is in doesn't matter that much and nobody cares where it's from. It's mostly a checkbox for hiring.

People are suggesting to take a year off. I disagree because you sound like me. Taking a year off meant I didn't go back for 8 years. Took me almost a decade just to get a Bachelor's.

If WGU is not an option for you, stick it out with one program and just get it done. It'll suck much less now than later. And trust me when I say I know how hard it is now. Don't worry about what the degree is in, don't worry about how long it takes while you're in it, just get it done now because you'll regret not doing it if you wait too long.

This makes sense for most people, but OP sounds like the type of person I am: leaving school for a year meant leaving school entirely. Because getting back to it is hard.

I would suggest sticking it through and talking with an advisor to get on track and prevent any more deviations from the path. Just getting it done would have served me well in my early 20s and it wouldn't have taken me 9 years to finish a Bachelor's.

This happens all the time. Happens when I go to the app switcher and resets when I go back home. But as soon as I hear back into the app switcher, it moves to the side.

Here it is as I write this post:

[Xitter] just announced a smart TV app for streaming video. Or, more accurately, that it claims it's building one, with absolutely no launch date mentioned. The appropriately-named [Xitter] TV wants to be “your go-to companion for a high-quality, immersive entertainment experience on a larger screen.”

Why even bother having it at all anymore. Can't use it through Bluetooth, it's slow, can't hardly handle any tasks...

Google has completely lost the plot with their services.
