Ah, that hits close to home. I have spent a lot of time and energy to get my direct bosses onboard with following best practices and doing things right from the start. To their credit, they got onboard with it and are pushing that message themselves now. Of course, the board doesn't care about that and just jams random projects with strict deadlines without any thoughts given to the IT aspects of it up our asses, but our head of IT has apparently grown a spine and started pushing back, with some moderate success.

The MO of my company has for years been: do a POC and then as soon as it works, push that POC in production. I'm still cleaning up the mess of idiotic shit like that from 15 years ago.

If we're not talking about US airlines exclusively, I have very good experiences with Austrian Airlines. Their booking is straightforward, no hidden fees, good service on the airplane. The only issue I can think of is that it can be difficult to get into contact with a person from that airline when flying from a non-Austrian airport, but that is rarely needed anyway. They're not low-cost though.

We have 4 and two litterboxes. No issues with them doing their thing. I have had it recommended we need more litterboxes, but since there are no issues, I don't really see the point. That being said, we religiously clean those twice a day, so I suppose that helps. And on the point of 4 cats, I agree, it's a bit much. We had two and then last year we found two kittens on the street (not at the same time), one scroungy as hell and the other one had a gaping wound. We nursed both back to health and then didn't have the heart to give them away, so yea, that's how that went.

Do you always turn the faucet to the max or what?

I just use an HP Microserver gen 8 with upgraded cpu and ram. But yea, just a relatively cheap computer is all 98% of the people really need, as long as you can configure enough disks. NAS'es are way overpriced with shitty hardware.

Vivaldi, Chopin, Mozart and Bach, in that order. Honorable mentions for Grieg, Tchaikovsky and Debussy.

Ah, that's a shame in a way because I liked the idea of this guy walking around irl. Still a great image though.

It's not that simple. Caricatures are easy, but the fact remains that the Chinese auto makers are heavily subsidized and it's that government support that allows them (partially at least) to undercut the European auto makers.

That being said, the European auto makers really deserve to be hurt for their arrogance. And that's coming from someone whose income is directly related to how well they do.

Once it stops giving non-existent powershell commands, I'll give it another go, but for now it has wasted enough of my time.

To be fair, it was the largest cavalry charge in history. Between 30 and 40000 horsemen charging is insane. To put that into a comprehendible context, the charge of the rohirim you see in the Return of the King had 5000 horses. The largest charge in the Napoleonic wars (iirc) was Murats desperation charge at the battle of Eylau with 11000 cavalry, which somewhat won the day and is considered one of the great cavalry charges in history.

This charge was 3 to 4 times larger. It was truly a hurricane of vengeance.

You have to hand it to the French though, that stuff was pretty dope.
