How did GDPR benefit "us all"?

Or maybe season 2 is coming?
I’ve read horror stories about losing or breaking a phone and being locked out of everything because the standard phone backups don’t save the passkeys private keys.
This is no different than what we already have. Many people don't backup their TOTP to any cloud provider, or even themselves, and if their phone breaks, they lose all of their TOTP. And most people don't save recovery keys (if the service even provides them).
So ya. Stop fear mongering.
I'd have to have an always listening Amazon device in my house to try, and that's ridiculous.
You mean going off reading the title of a post on Lemmy and not actually looking into it?
See ya when you need a video on how to fix something, a review releases, or you get sent a video from a friend.
Lmfao, no one is dropping YouTube. You'll be back one way or another.
It's hidden in the fact it's not presented upon first startup, it never mentions it, and it's at the very bottom of the settings page.
You have to discover it. And who knows how long you had it enabled before you find it.
Also, Firefox, lemmys beloved browser, sends telemetry by default. You have to dig through menus you didn't know existed to even find out, and then disable.
Not only to Mozilla, but third parties as well.
They only produce heat if you're using them. Otherwise they run pretty ambient.
It's wild that you wouldn't want a GPU, since it makes the machine like 50% more capable.
I'm not hunting for whatever comment you think I should be looking for, my guy.
Hate to break it to you, but most companies only comply if you're in a GDPR country. Otherwise nothing has changed. That's why it is far from benefiting "us all".
