Gel is basically powder with water mixed in, therefore you are basically buying water for them to premix your detergent with at the factory. You end up paying more for a container of detergent that doesn't last as long, is heavier, and is more expensive. Powder forever!

Manufacturers usually have separate models, a standard one for the whole world and a cut down version to save cost for the US

Credit cards are the definition of arbitrary debt. If the correct way to use them is to pay them off every month, and the only reason is for points/benefits, they are completely arbitrary. Just another way to profit off of people in difficult situations or those with weak willpower.
Rinsing the pasta is fine for making a cold pasta salad or something like that, removing the free starch stops it from sticking. But for a dish with sauce, definitely don't rinse.
For fresh pasta yes, dried you don't need as much salt
