Corporate is always going to treat you better than franchise, but will usually be a lot more strict about how you represent the company. Independent shops are a toss up

I'm sure plenty of times, but the horror in HOL is pretty minimal tbh, I can't imagine it would be easy to do.

Someone did make a phenomenal DOOM mod inspired by it though

Man it's a 4 hour video. Of a review of a hotel. At no point in modern history was that the kind of thing that many people had the attention span to watch

The book House of Leaves is presented as a documentary within a book within a book. Really fun read, too

I wouldn't outwardly say that I hate anime but I definitely assume the worst when I hear a show is one. I automatically start thinking it's going to be style over substance with unnecessarily long fight scenes, unrelatable characters, gross sexualization of female characters (if not child characters), and awkward dubs.

There are obviously exceptions to this. Serial Experiments Lain was my PFP here on Lemmy for a while and it's one of my favorite shows ever. Within the past month I binged all of Chainsaw Man in two nights and thought it was great. But it was great in spite of the fact that it's also an anime

Definitely, but if I was trying to make a sales pitch to an average person, that's what I'd lead with. Add-ons on FF Mobile make something like YouTube Premium completely redundant

Glad to here it's working. Obfuscation is the only anonymity online

(I'm trying to adjust my shopping habits for quality, long-lasting goods from reputable brands. This isn't some hailcorporate thing)

It's not a tech support group FFS!

It can sometimes be hard to separate the artist from their art. Are there any artists who were bad people but whose work you still enjoy?

Feel free to answer if you're in the opposite scenario: an artist who you love personally but don't enjoy their artwork.

Feel free to respond more than just music artists!

Title is a bit of a loaded question but I tried to fit it into one sentence.

Do you think Lemmy's search and use functions are hurt by all the communities that were made and abandoned during the 2023 Redditfugee influx? As in, do you think that Lemmy would be better off if some of these communities were consolidated into larger general pages until it gets a big enough user base to warrant individual communities for specific TV shows, for example.
