I tried Linux Mint on my old XPS laptop and the battery life is, unfortunately, a nonstarter for me. It lasts about 2 hours running Linux versus up to six on Windows (thanks to battery settings). It also doesn't hibernate properly. I wish it had worked for me

On my Android's Firefox, I have always gotten this style of "web" result in addition to the instant answers. There's a plugin to "fix" it, but I think it's a downgrade

Agreed, but even with fewer cars, having the remaining ones be electric is much better. Quieter (at low speeds) and no fumes

The issue of dynamic IP addresses is solved using a service like DuckDNS. Space Invader has some tutorials on it: https://youtu.be/CS72kN2c6hU

Probably. A lot of libraries have access to the NYT, probably worth checking!

IKEA has two sizes (one, two) of Tupperware that use the same lid size and it's amazing. It's like only having matching socks.

Adjusting a speed limit is not enough, road engineers need to implement actual traffic calming measures to slow people down..

Fun fact, US pedestrian deaths went up during covid because there were fewer drivers and people could speed more easily.

There are paid services that offer phone number masking such as Firefox Relay

I’m just mentioning a solution that is actually available, where unassholing everyone isn’t.

Beautifully put. So often there are simple solutions to these problems.
