It's like an HOA: The council is deciding how to divide up your backyard between your neighbors. The lawn owner is the only dissenting vote and then the neighborhood wonders why they are being so hostile.

The solution is to tax the rich so a golden parachute mostly goes to the tax payer. Including stock options.

That doesn't mean everyone living on stolen land gets a pass just because they weren't the ones to steal it. They have an obligation to make it right.

Why? They could roll out W12 with subscription-only plans. Besides the contracts they currently have that specify a specific amount of security updates for X years, they can let W11 and previous versions die. No more updates besides what they need to protect themselves.

It's not like governments and businesses will balk. They already pay a premium for Windows licenses and they'd probably get deals, anyways. Average home users might not upgrade, but all new PCs sold will have W12 and require a subscription if you want to be able to use most of the features.

This is what happens by not breaking up MS more or imposing penalties for anti-competitive behavior.

Inclusion and representation isn't controversial unless you're a bigot.

It's abusive to invade women's spaces as a man looking to take advantage. Stay out.

Oh look, you're all up in this thread a day late posting his horrid takes.

or it’s forum results from 2010. Nevermind I’ve explicitly asked for 2022, 23.

I wish I could do the opposite. Sometimes there's a new article about something and I want to search its history or find an article about it from a year ago to see what people were saying then. It's all but impossible to find anything that isn't trending. I know the info is there but no search engine I've used allows me to see it.

When you mean using GPT, you mean you pull that drop-down from the top and talk to the AI? How do you know the info you are getting is accurate? AI has had a terrible track record of just regurgitating popular posts or making things up and AI can mask where the info came from, lending it an air of authority to what might be forum speculation.

I stopped using Facebook years and years ago when adblockers failed to stop FB ads. I have yet to find one that actually works.

When I took a look to see if it had improved, the feed wasn't even chronological. I get posts from days ago on top and posts from hours ago buried pages in. The posts at the top of the feed are even ones I've seen before. FB has become entirely useless and only bother for the few groups that insist on using it.
