I suspect this will change once insurance companies stop giving coverage for ransomware. It's already been happening for a few years.

The Xiaomi Mi Band 8 and Huawei Band 8 are rather nice watches that do essentially the same thing as the very expensive smart watches for about $40 and they last about 2 weeks
They don't arbitrarily hand those things out... Don't drink and drive and it's not a problem.
I could be remembering wrong but Twitter was only worth $15B at best, and Elon bought it for $44B because he's that smart.

The accounts they're breaking the encryption on were never configured properly. These are old accounts from when LastPass had weak defaults and neither the user or LastPass updated those settings on old accounts. Those settings have always existed though and could have been improved by the user.
