Fine art is valued for taxation and insurance purposes

Renting (at sane rates that allow saving up a down payment) is a pathway to ownership.

As opposed to what? You're either living with somebody for free or you're homeless if not currently renting or owning.

I think mine is undersized and close to 20 years old now. Reading your response is yet another reason I have to go through with upgrading everything.

I have an air sourced heat pump and it gets to -35C for a few weeks at time here. When it's that cold it does produce heat but your breath is hotter. There's no point in running it as it just doesn't make any kind of useful heat. Below -10C the amount of heat it produces noticeably tapers off.

It really depends on the type of heat pump. Air-sourced heat pumps generally don't produce heat below -30C and below -10C they generally lose enough efficiency that you're better off using electric baseboard heating.

Why doesn't it apply?

Lift a car with a hammer. Sometimes the only tool you have access to is the wrong tool. That doesn't make it the best or correct or even reasonable tool to use.

What do you and your friends talk about?

Not operating systems...

That doesn't apply the same for tools as it does cameras. For cameras the idea is at least you have the image captured. For a tool, if you're trying to lift a car up, a hammer alone isn't going to do you much good.

Should have laughed if this was a corporate device. They ignored the continuous popups for too long and was forced into compliance at an inconvenient time because they couldn't be bothered to reboot at the end of the day for likely 2 weeks.

It used to be like that

You're right, about 100 years ago it did used to be like that. Local banks aren't a thing anymore. While Co-op banking institutions are better for the local community, they're also investing in options outside the local community, further depleting the resources of the 30% of customers who shop at more affordable locations

That's the point though. The profits don't go to locals, they stay within the owner's for their second cottage and new boat. Very rarely do local stores actually benefit anybody other than themselves.

BetterHelp has partnered with the Israel government

I offer no commentary on the war but that's pretty... weird..
