Rock was a favorite of mine. The nude beach episode really stuck out to me.

And his dog's name was Spunky, ffs.

The Night House is a really good horror/thriller, I don't recall it having any gore.

The Menu is phenomenal, but does have a bit of blood and gore.

I don't think I saw anyone mention Get Out, a fantastic movie.

I'm not a big movie guy, but these were some of my faves (along with Evil Dead, which have been mentioned a ton already 🙂)

You guys stumbled upon Raëlism! A cult that originated in France. I have firsthand experience. I met a "Raelian Guide" at a convention and gave a presentation on his religion. They mention the topless stuff, and they're also anti-genital mutilation. But they also wish to reclaim the Swastika as a symbol of peace and love.

During this presentation, the guide, in talking about reclaiming the Swastika, "it was traditionally a symbol of peace and love, but you all wouldn't learn about that in our Jewish controlled education system. " (Word for word what he said in front of 100~ people)

They're, uhh, Nazis.

My least favorite app from my least favorite corporation. I have to use Visio every day for work, and it's a clumsy, buggy mess. You'd think a bajillion dollar company like Microsoft could put out a decent program. You'd think.

I had nightmares from Dawn of the Dead for weeks. I was 8 or 9 when my mom tried to show it to me, lol

Did they at least play Cool for Cats?

(This is the only song of theirs I know)

Supposedly my mother's maternal grandfather (so, my great-grandfather) wrestled a bear. Also supposedly, there is a statue somewhere in West Virginia to celebrate this fact.

I've done some surface level searching online for this but haven't found anything. Cool to think about, though!

What's wrong with Wiccans? I know a few, they're fine people.

Would you also reject your humanity?

The rule could be anything, as funny or as serious as you want. The universe will progress in a similar way that it has up until this point, unless your changed rule prevented it from doing so.

Some examples might be:

  • The invention of currency is not allowed.
  • Iron is slightly less stable.
  • The Ancient Greeks are able to cultivate Silphium, which does not go extinct now.

The big incident at my previous job was the (extremely incompetent) HR person accidentally sharing a spreadsheet of every employee's salary. I was an hourly worker at the time and thought it was funny, but some of the senior engineers were pissed to find out how much more other engineers made. HR was not fired, instead she was put on a temporary paid leave.

Other incidents include:

  • One of the owners' vape exploded, forcing everyone to evacuate.
  • VP of the company got caught buying escort services on the company credit card.
  • Aforementioned owner (who was no longer an owner after the company was bought out) got fired shortly after a town hall zoom meeting, where he used a Trump/Pence background.
  • The head of the NOC team had a stroke at work.
  • COO "accidentally" revealed in front of everyone that one of the Project Managers had cancer. She sued, and they settled.
  • COO verbally abused one of the senior managers over the phone during a big meeting. He sued, and they settled.

It was a pretty shitty company.

I'm a simple chips enjoyer (or crisps if you're a Britbong). Something salty to balance the sweet jelly. I usually eat crunchy peanut butter, so it's already a little savory.

(Picture alt text: a screenshot of my phone's call log, with numbers redacted (just in case). The phone numbers (except for one) are all spam calls)

I'm not sure if this is the correct place for this, but I am at my limit with these.

Constantly throughout the day I get spam call after spam call. I constantly report them to Google (I've got a Pixel 5, if it matters), yet nothing changes. This has been happening for months.

These calls will also leave the exact same, completely silent, 4-second voicemails. I will block and report spam, but you know how it is. There's no way to turn voice mail notifications off, and I wouldn't necessarily want to, because I know I'd miss something genuine or important.

What do I do? Is there anything I can do, beyond changing numbers? Even then, I'm sure a new number would exist in some database somewhere and be victim to more spam calls. This is heinous.

Thanks for reading. I'm just so frustrated.

Edit: this got a lot more attention than I anticipated. I appreciate the suggestions for different spam blockers and settings! It's also nice knowing I'm not alone. Hopefully, at least in the US, we'll get some real legislation eventually that will kill these spam calls once and for all.
